I find myself hopelessly addicted to business growth, marketing, branding, writing, and reading. Other things I am passionate about are working out and listening to Shane and Shane and Margaret Becker. I often hit the repeat button on this song by Shane & Shane, and I love this song by Margaret Becker, which I listen to both at least a few times each week as I work or read.
Last, but certainly not least, I confess very boldly that I am a Christian. And from time to time, I may write about things that reflect on my values and my walk with Christ. I am not perfect, which is precisely the reason I need Jesus Christ in my life. My desire in life is to live an abundant life in honor of Jesus Christ. My deepest desire is to trust Him, to deny myself and to pick up my cross and follow Him. I still fail at it, but I’m grateful that His mercies are new every morning.
I have been blessed with a beautiful and most amazing wife named Robin, and an incredibly wonderful son named Ryan. Ryan is a graduate of Baylor University and has his own marketing company in Waco. Ryan makes his mom and dad proud with the way he lives his life. We also love our beautiful granddog, Muggsy, a rescue from Austin Shelter.
Life is good. I have great friends, teammates, and customers that make my journey in life that much more meaningful. I have the opportunity to touch lives that makes my journey priceless. I invest my time as a business and marketing consultant to my wonderful customers around the world. I also find myself doing more business and marketing coaching, being a mentor to some, and a friend. When possible, you can catch me at Perry’s Steakhouse at the Domain in Austin, biking, and I plan on doing more scuba diving this summer. I am blessed.

I’ve helped global soft drink corporations make noise, and one-man startups find their voice. I approach creativity the same way — whether I’m designing a logo for a dive camp in Mozambique or a multi-million dollar dental lab in California. Big or small, it’s always about solving problems with smart, strategic design that works.
My philosophy? Simple Sells.
I believe creativity is the natural result of form meeting function.
Before all this, I served in the military — an experience that taught me discipline, precision, and how to work under pressure (and with all sorts of characters). It also gave me a deep appreciation for planning and purpose — lessons I carry with me into every project I touch.
After that came art school, design studios, big agencies, tiny agencies, and the wild world of freelance. I’ve worked on packaging, advertising, film, digital, print, and branding — often all in the same week.
Along the way, I’ve lectured at colleges, universities, and film schools, sharing what I’ve learned with the next wave of creative minds. I’ve spent a good chunk of my career mentoring junior designers, most of whom have gone on to do big things in the industry. (That might be the most rewarding part of the job, to be honest.)
I believe in honest work, bold ideas, and creating things that genuinely matter. I love collaborating with good people who want to make great things. And I like to keep things human — no buzzwords, no fluff, just straight-talking creativity.
So whether you’re building a new brand, launching a product, or simply ready for a brand refresh — I’m here to help you make it unforgettable.
Let’s build something brilliant.

The ”golden thread” that has joined all of these seemingly disparate careers, and led directly to my very fortuitous meeting with Jeff? Writing.
We live in an increasingly visual society, it’s often said, and the written word is thought to be losing its ability to impact. I respectfully disagree. Whether written, spoken, read, or heard, words still shape our thinking, and are an indelible part of the fabric of life, including business… and especially including sales.
When I’m not writing (which is rare!), I can be found at my home in upstate New York, one that I’m incredibly lucky to share with my wonderful wife Stephanie. We have a vegetable and flower garden that will never be big enough, and we remain dedicated to the notion that citrus trees can somehow be cultivated in Zone 6. Stephanie and I have been blessed with four wonderful children, who live scattered around the U.S. from coast to coast. No complaints here… it provides us with an excellent excuse to indulge one of our other favorite pastimes, travel!
As is true of most writers, I’m also an avid reader. The mood of the day can lead me to Stephen King, Warren Buffett, Aaron Sorkin, Molière, or Dale Carnegie —the classics, if you will. And I’m always open to new suggestions. There aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything I love doing, or to see all the people I love to spend time with. My life is very blessed, and I love what I do.
