“If things seem under control, you’re just not going fast enough.”—Mario Andretti
Change.
Fast.
Now.
I have an iMac with a 27″ monitor. I also have a MacBook Air, an iPhone 4S, and my latest addition, the iPad Mini and thanks to a close friend, an AppleTV device.
What does this have to do with anything?
Well I’ve noticed a lot of people now with iPad Mini’s. Last count was 12 million on the shelves in December with 24 million anticipated by March! In fact everyone in our office, let alone my own household has one. This is what I’ve observed:
- Less time on the iPhone and more time searching on the iPad Mini
- More frequent writing and notetaking
- Constant use
This is the trend that I’m seeing: your customer most likely is online right now. They are searching with a mobile device. What are they finding relating to your industry?
Are you easy to find?
Is your website optimized for the iPad Mini or iPhone (not to mention other digital devices)?
Is your site boring? Is it fast?
Is your content remarkable?
Can a person transact business without calling you?
Do you make it easy to do business online 24/7?
Do you offer something of value in exchange for a name and email? If so, what do you do with that name and email?
Be forewarned. A quiet but very fast revolution is taking place again and if you do not have good answers to the above questions, you will soon be out to pasture.
